Covet by Melissa Darnell Book Review

Dangerous to be together. Painful to be apart. Savannah Colbert knows she broke up with Tristan Coleman for the right reasons. Most of all, to keep from killing him with her new vampire abilities. But try telling her heart. Now, lost in a sea of hostile Clann faces, Sav tries to come to terms with what she's becoming and what that means for her future. And that someone is doing their best to bully her into making a terrible mistake.

Tristan can't believe Sav won't even talk to him. If being apart is her decision, fine. Just don't expect him to honor it. But even as he prepares to fight for the girl he loves, forces beyond their control take them both in directions neither could have foreseen or prepared for.

A reckoning is coming... and not everyone will survive.”

MY REVIEW

3 1/2 stars

Covet is book two in The Clann series by Melissa Darnell. The first book was a great introduction into the series and I certainly enjoyed it enough to continue on with book two which I enjoyed more so.
(( Covet ))

Melissa Darnell will draw you into her world, giving the reader vivid descriptions and a world that as a reader you will find imaginative and alluring.

Her Characters are certainly likeable enough -   the struggles they go through with love and life, each and every one of us has certainly experienced sometime in our lives. Conflicts, battles within and moments where your life seems unsure.

The love is a little whiney at times, Between Tristan and Savannah  they really want to be together but can’t be,  that I found at times a little frustrating. But none the less being a romantic at heart I enjoyed the lovey dovey romance anyway .  ( I cant wait to see how this pans out in book three ))

The story created has many possibilities and the storyline was captivating, leaving me wanting book three for sure. It is a well paced story, giving the reader a roller coaster ride of emotions, with each page or chapter giving us a little more into the characters and the world that she has created.

This series is yes another ya story with Vampires, but it’s intriguing and will certainly pique your interest with the indifference within.

No spoilers or hints for this book lovely readers, read the blurb, grab book one and read away!

Thank you to Harlequin Australia for supplying me this book to review for my honest opinion.

Pst I do love the Aussie cover.

Temptation by Karen Ann Hopkins Book review

Your heart misleads you.
That's what my friends and family say.

But I love Noah.
And he loves me.

We met and fell in love in the sleepy farming community of Meadowview, while we rode our horses together through the grassy fields and in those moments in each other's arms.

It should be

ROSE & NOAH

forever, easy.

But it won't be.

Because he's Amish.
And I'm not.

My review.

3 1/2 stars.

Temptation by Karen Ann Hopkins is a thrilling forbidden romance.

Rose is 16 years old and has just moved to Meadowview where the community is Amish. Here she meets Noah and an attraction is instant. However – A love like this isn’t easy. The relationship has to remain within themselves. Being able to be together is not an easy love affair.

There romance is forbidden but filled with Temptation. A wonderfully balanced contempary romance filled with many obstacles.

The storyline is different compared to what I have previously read. I’ve never read a story about Amish and must say that it enlightened me on a few things related to this. Hopkins put forth enough information regarding the Amish to enlighten the reader throughout the story without boring the reader along the way. It was certainly interesting.

Noah and Rose were likeable characters. Emotionally the relationship was a roller coaster ride. But no matter what Obstacles were put forth they loved each other and cared just the same. The relationship did move a little quick in the beginning, not really getting to know each other first; however the storyline and romance came through as realistic to the reader. The relationship did come across at times as young and naïve, bad choices by not thinking things through and also  the lack of communication between the pair often caused a few barriers. But once again this is realistic in first romances and loves.

Noah came across as controlling at times, this I didn’t like a lot. I think due to his beliefs this sometimes interfered with his ways and wished that Rose stood up for herself more.  Or maybe the fact that they were both naive and teenagers.

The author changed Pov  's between the chapters I found this great, it gave us an insight into both characters.

The author put forth all descriptions well with just the right amount of depth. Everything was well outlined, giving us vivid descriptions that we filled with enough of everything to give us a great visual within the story. The writing was fluent and well paced.

Temptation was filled with suspense, romance and action and I look forward to reading more of this series. I enjoyed the different storyline, and the Amish life was certainly put forth well. Hopkins certainly did put through this well.

Thank you to Harlequin Australia for the review copy for my honest opinion. I must say that I do love the Australian cover so much better  !!
