Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry Book Review

Today I have for you my book review for Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry. This read will certainly take you on a roller coaster ride - filled with emotions and depth like no other Ya I have ever read. This book was supplied to me  Via The publisher for an honest review and my thoughts. IT WAS JUST AMAZING !

I won't tell anyone, Echo. I promise." Noah tucked a curl behind my ear. It had been so long since someone touched me like he did. Why did it have to be Noah Hutchins? His dark brown eyes shifted to my covered arms. "You didn't do that-did you? It was done to you?" No one ever asked that question. They stared. They whispered. They laughed. But they never asked.

So wrong for each other...and yet so right.

No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal. But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.

My thoughts.  5 / 5

Pushing The Limits is a story that will certainly tug at your heartstrings, brings tears to your eyes, but keep you buried within the pages till the last page has been turned.

I must say I was Not sure what to expect upon opening the cover. But – upon starting, I read this book from front to back in one sitting. (Till the wee hours of the morning) , I was that engrossed within the story.

The writing and the emotions that Katie put forth were like poetry, fluent flowing and filled to the brim with such intensity, at times you will need to take that moment to digest it all.

The raw emotions and complexity within this story alone will have you riveted on every single word. I just couldn’t put it down. I was gob smacked, heartbroken and I’m sure I felt every emotion that Katie has put forth in this story. The vivid descriptions give the reader great insight not only into the feelings and thoughts of Noah and Echo, but raw intensity between two people trying to find themselves.

A love that was never deemed possible, but two unlikely people found a way. Through friendship and trust Noah and Echo are taken on a journey not only of discovery but also hope. Hope for a better future, to move on and live. But first this journey takes them along that bumpy road to see the light at the end of that black hole.

Noah was that bad boy your mother always warned you about. And Echo a girl with scars more than skin deep. Noah and Echo were polar opposites but both in need of friendship and someone who understands them. Noah‘s reputation preceded him but upon Echo getting to know the real Noah we also see a side to Noah that not many do.

Noah and Echo must first find themselves before they can find each other. They are both taken on a rollercoaster ride, trying to work out their lives. Echo wanting to remember that night and Noah needing to forgive himself and help Echo along her road of healing. Vice versa

Katie takes us on a whirlwind of emotions, a roller coaster ride that will have you cringing one moment, sniffing the next and giggling at the banter and humour between Noah and Echo.

Katie has certainly not held back in this story - her vivid descriptions, giving us details into every character with depth. Each unique and complex characters but showing us a different side to every person. All secondary characters are well fleshed out, and wonderfully woven throughout the story to give it that added depth.

Noah and Echo are both damaged souls, Echo and Noah meet with a mutual counsellor and here an unlikely friendship forms. Echo finds someone that can look past her scars, and whom cares not what people think.

Noah has so much loved for his brothers its hard breaking, and even though I believe he made the right decision in the end, he did it out of pure love alone.

Both Echo and Noah have both suffered life changing experiences, we see the ups and down of both teens, the difference they make within each other, giving support and someone to trust.  This story is so true to life, almost like reading a true story .

Pushing the Limits does contain drug use, sex , inappropriate language for some but I found that this is what’s going through a teenage life and what it can be filled with. Katie has certainly not held back on these aspects giving the reader real to life experiences as a teen.

The love story between Noah and Echo is raw, electrifying filled to the brim with love that is real for more than the physical contact.  (( aka just the sex )) The passion they share is romantic and Noah is such a sweety ** sigh ** His gestures towards Echo will leave you feeling gooey inside ;)

They both find the have to jump through hoops to get where they need to be, make sacrifices, and learning to trust each other. It’s filled with passion but not the type we see in romance novels. But a love that involves friendship, respect and all the emotional scars that go with.

PUSHING THE LIMITS will leave you smiling and happy with the ending but also feeling your left with a heavy heart. The emotions, throughout the story will certainly have you wandering way past the last pages.

A must read to add to your shelf.

A riveting and emotionally charged read with romance entwined throughout. The pages are drenched in an emotionally charged story that will linger even after the last word has been read.
